Components of Round Blank Button
Metal Shell (Front)
The convex upper part of the button usually made of tinplate or aluminum. It holds the shape of the button and wraps around the insert.
Custom Artwork
Your printed graphic, logo, or photograph. It is cut into a circle slightly larger than the metal shell so the edges can fold underneath.
Protective Mylar Film
A clear, transparent PVC or polyester film. It lays over the artwork to provide a glossy finish and shield against water, scratches, and fading.
Backing (Back)
The bottom of the button that seals the components together. It usually contains an attached safety pin, a flat back, a magnet, or a mirror.
